City Bylaws

Leash bylaw

All dogs must be kept on a leash when not on the owner s property. If a dog is not controlled by means of a leash, the owner or keeper of the dog can be ticketed for "failing to prohibit a dog from running at large".

If the Animal Care Services staff find a dog at large (alone, off leash and not on their own property), they will safely confine the dog and try to locate its family. This protects the pet from injury and helps to get the pet home safe again.

If you see a dog at large you can contact our office during business hours.
