Stray Dogs or Cats

Every Citizen has the right to report or confine a stray dog and have it impounded by London Animal Care Centre. Citizens are also permitted to humanely confine a stray cat and deliver it free of charge to the shelter at the London Animal Care Centre during our business hours. Strays are sheltered at the shelter located at 121 Pine Valley Blvd.

Stray pets may be reclaimed by an owner with proper payment of the redemption fee. Redemption fees cover impound charges and board (for every day including any part of a day).

All pets not claimed within 4 days of impoundment become the custodial property of London Animal Care Centre. Our expert staff screens all unclaimed pets beyond the redemption period for temperament, health and behaviour issues.

Approved candidates are placed for adoption. These
pets continue to be held for adoption unless behaviour
or health issues develop. People who are interested in adopting a pet, can learn more about the adoption process by clicking here.

Despite our best efforts and hard work tracking down owners, many unidentified and unclaimed pets are not reunited with their owners.
