License Fees for a New Dog | Renewals

When you register your dog for the first time, the fee for a dog license is as follows: (maximum 3 dogs per household)

January 1st to July 1st
	spayed/neutered	not spayed/neutered
Each dog	$ 31.00	$ 50.00
Guide dog, Service dog (certificate)	No charge

All first time license registrations must be done at the shelter.

If you purchase or adopt a dog after July 1st of a given year, and you are purchasing a dog license for this dog for the first time, there is a reduced dog licensing fee:

After July 1st
	spayed/neutered	not spayed/neutered
Each dog	$ 18.00	$ 29.00
Guide dog, Service dog (certificate)	No charge

To receive the reduced rate for a spayed or neutered pet, you must provide proof of surgery at the time you purchase your pet's license or identification.

This is often a receipt or invoice for the surgery from your veterinarian. If you are unable to find your receipt, your vet should be able to provide a copy.

Expiry date: December 31st

All licenses expire on December 31st of the current year.
